13 German Film Award nominations for three MDM-funded films

Today, the German Film Academy announced the nominees for the German Film Awards 2021. Among the finalists are the MDM-supported films "Fabian oder Der Gang vor die Hunde", "Space Dogs" and "Ivie wie Ivie". They were nominated for a total of 13 Lolas.

The big favourite with entries in ten categories is "Fabian oder Der Gang vor die Hunde" by Dominik Graf, which was made in summer 2019 mainly in Görlitz: It was nominated for Best Feature Film and also has a chance at the Lolas for Best Director (Dominik Graf), Best Screenplay (Constantin Lieb, Dominik Graf), Best Female Lead (Saskia Rosendahl), Best Female Supporting Actress (Meret Becker), Best Camera/Picture Design (Hanno Lentz), Best Editing (Claudia Wolscht), Best Production Design (Claus Jürgen Pfeiffer), Best Costume Design (Barbara Grupp) and Best Make-up Design (Nannie Gebhardt-Seele, Anna Freund).

"Space Dogs" (directors: Elsa Kremser, Levin Peter) is nominated for Best Documentary as well as for Best Sound Design (Jonathan Schorr, Simon Peter, Tobias Adam).

Also in the running for the Lola for Best Female Supporting Role is Lorna Ishema for her performance in director Sarah Blaßkiewitz's film "Ivie wie Ivie", which was shot mainly in Leipzig.

The German Film Awards 2021 ceremony will take place on 1st October at the Palais am Funkturm in Berlin.
